Last acts of kindness
Last week’s tale of the still-unknown woman who wanted to include a bequest to the Reedsport Animal Shelter in her will — but couldn’t find anyone at various city departments to help her do such a generous thing — brings up an important point. One’s home town has many worthy programs and projects, and at least one of those should find its way into the final will of every citizen who benefited by being part of this community.

Positive results came from meeting
I don’t want to attend another meeting like the forum held the other evening at Pacific Auditorium. I like transparency, a popular word right now, and I like directness. I want all sides to be heard. I want clarity and accuracy. I wish the attendees and I were as civil as the Coast Guard personnel were.
