| Splint and Sprint 5K on Saturday
The Splint and Sprint 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday at the Lower Umpqua Hospital, kicking off Hospital Week.
The cost of the event is $13 with a T-shirt and $5 without. Registration the day of the race will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. with the race starting at 10. Registration forms and route locations are available on the hospital’s Web site, www.lowerumpquahospital.org.
The event is sponsored by Lower Umpqua Hospital to benefit the Lower Umpqua Hospital Foundation, whose mission is to promote the development of the hospital and the health care-delivery systems of Western Douglas County.
The race starts and ends near Lower Umpqua Hospital, 600 Ranch Road in Reedsport with the route going through nearby residential areas.
Ribbons will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category for both runners and walkers. For more information, those interested can call the Family Resource Center at 271-9700.
